Sustainable Energy Ireland promotes and assists environmentally and economically sustainable production, supply and use of energy in Ireland. The National Development Plan has made funding provision of €223 million to support implementation of the Government’s sustainable energy policy through Sustainable Energy Ireland.
The Green Paper, published in 1999, recommends that funding should be made available to the development of high efficiency CHP projects with clear environmental benefits and research into small scale CHP suitable for commercial buildings.
To meet this aim, Sustainable Energy Ireland has launched the CHP/DH RD&D programme. The programme has a total of €5.08 million available to fund relevant studies and demonstrators.
Funding is currently available to support feasibility studies into the use of novel CHP/DH systems as outlined in the attached Call for Proposals document. Proposals to SEI are now invited from interested parties.
Following completion of the feasibility studies, applications will be invited for funding of CHP/DH pilot demonstration projects.
A Strategy document setting the objectives, content, and priorities for this programme is also available on this web page. Conditions of eligibility and funding assistance available are laid out in the Strategy and Call for Proposals documentation. Applications should be made, in electronic format, on the Application Form available using the link below.
