Hotel Study
The Irish Energy Centre in co-operation with the Irish Hotel Federation undertook detailed audits of seven sample hotels each using different combinations of fuel types for heating and hot water production. The objective was to establish the energy distribution and thus the potential savings in various hotel services and to allow hotels compare their performance using the Chartered Institute of Building Services (CIBSE) “Performance Indicators”. The project results were widely disseminated and it directly resulted in the installation of one of the first co-generation plants in an Irish hotel.
